African Americans Are Still Enslaved In America Essays - Slavery

African Americans Are Still Enslaved In America African Americans are Still Enslaved in America Blacks have no rights what Whites will undoubtedly regard These were the words the expressions of Chief Justice Roger Tanry. These words that have been accepted and respected for quite a long time. Blacks have endeavored to change these discriminative perspectives on White Americans for a long time. As an African American conceived in the United States I have seen and encountered a few cases of bigotry and separation. White Americans have for a long while been itching to control and control the psyches Black America. I know direct that African Americans are still oppressed in America today.Slavery denoted the starting the tribulations they have experienced from the second they showed up in America. Africans were caught and brought to America against their wills. When they were stacked of the boats they were cuffed and shown like products. He was cut off from hello there African past, with no expectation for what's to come. Without any r ights to secure him. Americans were allowed to treat them how they saw fit. This typically included physical discipline. Subjugation required accommodation. Discipline was painstakingly arranged out to ingrain dread and break the Africans' soul. They must be fit for difficult work. Delivering the slaves with merciless beatings would give far beyond just discipline. Dehumanization, accommodation, unbending order, inadequacy and reliance were only a portion of the needed impacts. Who might ever figure that it would cause issues down the road for them later? White Americans claimed slaves for more than 200 years. Albeit a portion of these slaves attempted to revolt and runaway, it didn't have a lot of effect on the circumstance. On January 1,1863, Abraham Lincoln gave the Emancipation Proclamation liberating all the slaves that were in states that upheld the Confederacy. In opposition to what we were taught with in language school, his significant objective was to spare the association . August 22, 1862 Lincoln wrote,My Paramount goal is to spare the Union?. On the off chance that I couldsave the Union without liberating the slaves, I woulddo it; in the event that I could spare it by liberating all the slaves, I woulddo it; and on the off chance that I could spare it by liberating a few and leavingthe only others I would likewise do it?.. (Hutchinson, pg. 52)It wasn't until May 1865 that President Andrew Johnson called for cancelation of subjection. Subjugation in the United States has been known as the most terrible the world has known (Banks/Banks pg. 52) The Civil War started April 12,1862 and finished 1865. In the first place African Americans were not permitted to battle in the war, yet the Proclamation It didn't make a difference that most Blacks were conceived in this counrty. They kept on living without the rights that the other American conceived residents had. This nation was based on the work of these Blacks guardians and grandparents and it was proceed ing. Responding To Customer Complaints On Social Media

Reacting To Customer Complaints On Social Media You’re human. Missteps will occur. Nothing is great and something will turn out badly. Only one out of every odd client will be fulfilled. This isn't a disappointment. The best organizations are the ones that chaos up and show how they fix their errors. They fabricate their customer’s trust and demonstrate they are tuning in to them. When a critical different commits an error and takes ownership of it, do you dump them since they failed or do pardon them and trust them more since they were straightforward? Contingent upon the circumstance, you’ll pardon them and that will make your relationship more grounded. It’s comparable with business. Slip-ups occur, yet when a business takes ownership of it and apologizes, they’ll assemble a superior relationship with the client. Tune in To Your Customer Complaints At the point when clients grumble, now and again they simply need somebody to listen to them. They had a poor encounter, and regardless of how enormous or little it was, the least you can do is tune in. What do you realize when you tune in? You get some answers concerning issues that would have made progressively disappointed clients later on. At the point when you tune in to a client, you have a chance to set up a relationship with that client. By tuning in to them, youll let them realize you give it a second thought. Because a client is vexed doesnt mean they are an act of futility, or gone until the end of time. Despite the size of the issue, let the client realize you heard their concern and comprehend their disappointment. One of my first occupations was an agent at a little medication store/blessing shop. I was 16 and unnerved when clients grumbled in light of the fact that I had no clue about what to do and no position to take care of business. This is the point at which I found on the off chance that I let a client vent their disappointments to me and apologize for their poor experience, they would consistently leave more joyful than when they came in. Business Is About Relationships It is anything but difficult to overlook the way that business is about connections. Relationshipsâ with your present clients, however with sellers, previous clients, customers, the network, and that's just the beginning. The Perfect Apology, a site committed to helping perusers make the ideal mea culpa,â understands this relationship association between a business and client. It offers the accompanying system about how to ensure that relationship: 1. Look at the purpose for your business conciliatory sentiment andâ whoâ has been influenced by the circumstance. 2. Determine the most fitting approach to apologize andâ whenâ that conciliatory sentiment ought to be given. 3. Ask and answer the accompanying four essential inquiries: What are you saying 'sorry'? for? Who are you saying 'sorry'? to? How would you apologize? When would it be a good idea for you to apologize? At the point when somebody gripes, its not the finish of the relationship. Rather, its a chance. Its an opportunity to fortify that relationship and remake it. Business is about connections. Objections are an opportunity to save and manufacture relationships. How To Apologize Face-To-Face At the point when I was in the primary evaluation, an educator of mine revealed to us that on the off chance that we would apologize to somebody, sorry is rarely enough. At the point when you apologize you should express their name, mention to them what occurred, reveal to them why it occurred, and that you’ll never do it agin. As Ive been doing investigate on business conciliatory sentiments, Ive been learning this type of expression of remorse is the thing that most organizations use. Its a five-advance procedure. Apologize. Actually state you are heartbroken. Dont state that you are sorry they feel that way yet state I am grieved. State what you did wrong. Make sure you advise the client what your business fouled up. This is you taking ownership of your missteps and taking responsibility for. Recognize how they are feeling. Imagine yourself from their point of view, and let them realize you comprehend (or are attempting to see) how the circumstance made/causes them to feel. Express regret. Let them realize you feel terrible about the circumstance. Guarantee it wont happen once more. It’s difficult to guarantee that something will never happen again, yet you can at any rate notice how you will put forth a valiant effort to keep an error from happening again. An emergency is in no way enjoyable yet it offers you a chance to manufacture an enduring relationship with your crowd. Obviously, this depends on how you handle it. Clients Value Apology More What do clients esteem more? A statement of regret or some type of money related an incentive in return for the poor experience? The Nottingham School of Economicsâ conducted an examination and found that miserable clients are all the more ready to pardon an organization that offers a statement of regret instead of money related remuneration. For what reason would clients be all the more ready to excuse an organization that offers a conciliatory sentiment? Scientists guessed that when clients hear Im sorry, it triggers an intuition to pardon. Its a sense that is hard for individuals to survive. I need to concede that the aftereffects of this examination came as an astonishment for me. From my experience, I realize clients consistently esteem an authentic statement of regret. Im on the promoting group for a sandwich shop and like anybody in the food business knows, botches occur. Ordinarily when a client gripes, we apologize and offer to send them something via the post office. That something is typically a free sandwich. Well ordinarily state something that straightforwardly addresses their poor experience, apologize for it and request them to allow us to compensate for their poor experience. I accept this is a decent harmony between a conciliatory sentiment and pay. Creator Bruna Martinuzzi composed a superb post on the most ideal path for organizations to apologize, sharing some extraordinary expression of remorse dos and donts. Whats the enormous takeaway? Don’t utilize the word â€Å"if†. An statement of regret that is â€Å"if I insulted you, I’m sorry† is essentially saying â€Å"I don’t see how you can be irritated, however on the off chance that you are so delicate to being outraged, let me apologize.† That’s not the vibe you need to emit to your clients. You don’t need to affront them once more. Simply state, â€Å"I’m sorry we irritated you.† That’s directly forthright and you took responsibility for circumstance. Don’t give excuses. Excuses are enticing on the grounds that there is generally an explanation for your activities. However pardons are effectively a most irritating aspect regarding statements of regret. â€Å"I’m sorry I irritated you, yet I was simply following client policy.† Even on the off chance that you have a real explanation with respect to why a circumstance happened, forgo rationalizing. You can clarify the circumstance, however don’t utilize a reason. It will make your expression of remorse less authentic. Make it brief. Keep your expression of remorse short. It’s simple to chatter, however don’t. Quick and painless is the standard. This will cause it to appear to be progressively veritable and less about you. The sooner the better. The time span on giving an expression of remorse lapses. Don’t postpone a statement of regret. half of purchasers give a brand just a single week to react to an inquiry before they quit working with them, as indicated by RightNow Customer Experience Impact Report. On the off chance that conceivable, apologize before the client even thinks about the circumstance. It will make the client trust you more. For business, trust is everything. Worth the relationship. You dont consistently should be correct. The estimation of a relationship will regularly eclipse your should be correct. By contending about who is correct and who isn't right, youre accomplishing more harm. Does it make a difference who is correct? Will it hurt the connection among you and the client? Is it justified, despite all the trouble? Make an expression of remorse policy. If you have different representatives, it tends to be difficult to keep everybody insider savvy on whats the most ideal approach to apologize. Regardless of whether you are the main individual in your organization, a statement of regret strategy will help keep you on target with steady and practical responses. Martinuzzi brings up Starbucks LATTE technique for managing complaints. Starbucks baristas are prepared to react to grumblings by Listening (L), Acknowledging (A), (T) Taking Action, Thanking (T), and Explaining (E). There is accentuation on listening solitary in conclusion on clarifying what occurred. Attempt to make a memorable simple strategy that will support you and your workers manage objections. The most effective method to Apologize On Social Media One explanation entrepreneurs dont need to go intoâ social mediaâ is in light of the fact that they are apprehensive theyll be on protection the whole time. Whenever a client has to such an extent as an average encounter they come rushing to their online life organizes and grumble. It appears as though all they would doâ on internet based life is apologize.

These are often used in clinical cases or in situations when lab research is not possible or practical. In undergraduate courses, these are often based on a real individual, an imagined individual, or a character from a television show, film, or book. The specific format for a case study can vary greatly. In some instances, your case study will focus solely on the individual of interest. Other possible requirements include citing relevant research and background information on a particular topic. Always consult with your instructor for a detailed outline of your assignment. What  Is a Case Study? A case study is an in-depth study of one person, group, or event. Much of  Freuds  work and theories were developed through the use of individual case studies. Some great examples of case studies in psychology include  Anna O,  Phineas Gage, and  Genie. In a case study, nearly every aspect of the subjects life and history is analyzed to seek patterns and causes of behavior. The hope is that learning gained from studying one case can be generalized to many others. Unfortunately, case studies tend to be highly subjective and it is sometimes  difficult to generalize results to a larger population. One of the greatest advantages of a case study is that it allows researchers to investigate things that are often difficult to impossible to replicate in a lab. The case study of Genie, for example, allowed researchers to study whether language could be taught even after critical periods for language development had been missed. In Genies case, her horrific abuse had denied her the opportunity to learn a language at critical points in her development. This is clearly not something that researchers could ethically replicate, but conducting a case study on Genie allowed researchers the chance to study otherwise impossible to reproduce phenomena. Types There are a few different types of case studies that psychologists and other researchers might utilize: Explanatory case studies  are often used to do causal investigations. In other words, researchers are interested in looking at factors that may have actually caused certain things to occur.Exploratory case studies  are sometimes used as a prelude to further, more in-depth research. This allows researchers to gather more information before developing their research questions and hypotheses.Descriptive case studies  involve starting with a descriptive theory. The subjects are then observed and the information gathered is compared to the pre-existing theory.Intrinsic case studies  are a type of case study in which the researcher has a personal interest in the case. Jean Piagets observations of his own children are good examples of how an intrinsic cast study can contribute to the development of a psychological theory.Collective case studies  involve studying a group of individuals. Researchers might study a group of people in a certain setting or look at an entire community of people. In strumental case studies  occur when the individual or group allows researchers to understand more than what is initially obvious to observers. Methods There are also different methods that can be used to conduct a case study: Prospective case study methods  are those in which an individual or group of people is observed in order to determine outcomes. For example, a group of individuals might be watched over an extended period of time to observe the progression of a particular disease.Retrospective case study methods  are those that involve looking at historical information. For example, researchers might start with an outcome, such as a disease, and then work their way backward to look at information about the individuals life to determine risk factors that may have contributed to the onset of the illness. Sources of Information Used There are a number of different sources and methods that researchers can use to gather information about an individual or group. The six major sources that have been identified by researchers  are: Direct observation:  This strategy involves observing the subject, often in a natural setting. While an individual observer is sometimes used, it is more common to utilize a group of observers.Interviews:  One of the most important methods for gathering information in case studies. An interview can involve structured survey-type questions or more open-ended questions.Documents:  Letters, newspaper articles, administrative records, etc.Archival records:  Census records, survey records, name lists, etc.Physical artifacts:  Tools, objects, instruments and other artifacts often observed during a direct observation of the subject.Participant observation:  Involves the researcher actually serving as a participant in events and observing the actions and outcomes. In the majority of states, the manufacture of weed is against the law. It implies that its cultivation and manufacture is hidden from the communal perception. Different from legal drugs or food, no public control is used. For example, in order for a medication to be approved for usage in America or Great Britain, it ought to undergo a thorough check. Hundreds of investigations should be conducted, piles of papers and statements should be written. The manufacturer should prove that the product meets the requirements of good manufacturing practice (GMP). It implies that the factories producing the drug should be flawless and comply with all the regulatory acts of the state. Many students interested in this topic ask us write me an essay and get the needed paper perfectly written. Cannabis manufacturers are in no way checked by controllers of good manufacturing practices. This produce is by no means evaluated by researchers. When the party is non-acceptable, no recall occurs. Consumers of cannabis dont have any thought how clean and risk-free the product is. Still, when they cultivate plants themselves, no state recommendations are offered for their usage. No one knows which insecticides or fertilizers are in disharmony with adequate herb cultivation. In case hemp becomes legally recognized, it will fall under the similar strict control as it does with permitted preparations. Even manufacturers of alcohol drinks are kept under strain from inspection bodies to preserve good manufacturing practices. Liability. In the 30s, while alcoholic drinks were forbidden in the Unites States, perhaps only criminal groups benefited from this ban. Alcoholic use persisted anyway, but the business was controlled by the bootlegger groupings. After the abolition of the ban, a considerable amount of unlawful groups simply disappeared. The criminalization of hemp not so damaging product than alcoholic beverages - is counterproductive. The legalization of cannabis may let out time and reserves of the force to combat factual felony. This is a complicated question and if you need to know more about it and wish to pay for research paper, we can provide you with a profound essay. People that are determined not in favor of the legalization of cannabis are beyond doubt engaged in the manufacture and supply of it. Continuing to hold up the ban on the legalization of weed, they simply earn money on this. Personal liberty. The liberty to decide whether to take or not cannabis must belong to the individual him/herself, and not to the government. When the deeds of a particular person do not hurt other persons, in that case the administration must not tell them whether to do anything or not. No compelling causes for the medicinal nature are present which would allow supporting the ban on cannabis. Alcohol is a lawful product and appears to be the grounds of thousands of road incidents, family abuse, cases of cruelty to children, is the root of devastating diseases. When alcohol is lawful, it is fair enough to legitimize cannabis. Authorities ought to restrict the liberty of selection of individuals when their deeds threaten other people. But under this instance, cannabis doesnt fit. The costs. Administrations of the US, Canada, Britain, Western Europe and most other states of the planet use billions of money annually on "anti-drug wars." Obviously, the persecution of persons that take cannabis is a waste of funds. The utmost harm comes from the rest of narcotics, such as methamphetamine, cocaine or opiates, and not cannabis. Drawing out hemp from the register of dangerous narcotics will save government agencies huge amount of money and bring about more targeted work of the force. The government accumulates funds coming out of taxes of the retail of tobacco goods and alcohol drinks, and no income is earned from the retail of cannabis. In case hemp was legal, governments would waste less and gain more. The medicine. Thousands of persons these days undergo unrelieved soreness since cannabis is an unlawful product. In case hemp was viewed as some other herb or yet as tobacco or spirits, it would have been of great use to medicine. It is recognized that hemp may assist to ease many pathological conditions, particularly the ones followed by a prolonged pain syndrome. Arguments in opposition to legalization of cannabis: Long-run influence. In view of the idea that cannabis isnt legalized, it seems practically impossible to perform big populace investigations confirming the damage of using hemp. A few researches in the last several years have displayed that longtime intake of cannabis augments the danger of emergence of severe disturbances of mind like schizophrenia and dejection. Slippery slope. Cannabis, as a rule, is the initial stage to other, more powerful narcotics. A considerable amount of opiates or cocaine users began their way with marijuana. Having legally recognized cannabis, the increasingly more individuals will join this slippery slope. Currently, this is the illicit position of cannabis which keeps many people from using weed. Many simply dont feel like violating the regulation. Road incidents. It has been established that persons during 3 hours of using cannabis are at a much greater danger of getting into an accident while being at the wheel. In this regard, there is by now a quite big trouble with drink drive. The legalization of cannabis would only augment the quantity of accidents. In case hemp is officially permitted, lots of "respectable" citizens will go intoxicated by marijuana to a car and fall into an accident. To read about underage drinking, follow this link: http://star-writers.com/blog/underage-drinking-essay-impact-of-alcohol-on-teenagers Children. In case cannabis is lawful, more kids will take it. Narcotic abuse. With the lawful position of hemp, the degree of narcotization of the residents nationwide will significantly increase. The population, previously consuming solely strong drinks and not using cannabis due to its illegal status, can begin joint intake of spirits and hemp. How to Conjugate French Regular -IR Verbs

There are five main kinds of verbs in French: regular -er, -ir, -re, stem-changing, and irregular. Once youve learned the rules of conjugation for each of the first three kinds of verbs, you should have no problem conjugating regular verbs in each of those categories. Regular -ir verbs are the second-largest category of French verbs. Indeed, these verbs are often referred to as second conjugation verbs. The verb form that ends in -ir is called the infinitive, and -ir is the infinitive ending. (In English, by contrast, the infinitive is the verb preceded by the word to.) The French verb with the infinitive ending removed is called the stem or radical.   Conjugating Regular French -ir  Verbs To conjugate regular  -ir  French verbs, its best to run through an example, step by step. Conjugate the French word  choisir  (to choose), for example, by following these steps: Remove the infinitive ending (-ir)  to find the stem (also called the radical).Note that the stem—the verb without  the  -ir ending—is  chois.Add the appropriate simple conjugation ending/s shown in the table in the next section. Note that the conjugation table below does not include  the  compound tenses, which consist of  a form of the auxiliary verb  and  the past participle.  Choisir  normally requires the auxiliary verb  avoir  (to have) in  compound tenses and moods. For  example,  Jai  choisi  would  transelate  as I have chosen. But, if you were to extend the sentence, you would delete the  present perfect, as in:   Jai  choisi  deux  là ©gumes verts. I picked (chose) two green vegetables.   Example Conjugations To conjugate an -ir verb in the present tense, remove the infinitive ending and then add the appropriate endings. For example, here are the present tense conjugations for the regular -ir verbs  choisir,  finir  (to finish), and  rà ©ussir  (to succeed): Pronoun Ending choisir chois- finir fin- rà ©ussir rà ©uss- Je -is choisis finis rà ©ussis Tu -is choisis finis rà ©ussis Il -it choisit finit rà ©ussit Nous -issons choisissons finissons rà ©ussissons Vous -issez choisissez finissez rà ©ussissez Ils -issent choisissent finissent rà ©ussissent Some Common French Regular -ir Verbs French regular -ir verbs, the second largest group of French verbs, share a  conjugation pattern. Here are just a few of the most common regular - ir verbs: Abolir  Ã‚  to abolishAgir  Ã‚  to actAvertir  Ã‚  to warnBà ¢tir  Ã‚  to buildChoisir  Ã‚  to chooseà ©tablir  Ã‚  to establishà ©tourdir  Ã‚  to stun, deafen, make dizzyFinir  Ã‚  to finishGrossir  Ã‚  to gain weight, get fatGuà ©rir  Ã‚  to cure, heal, recoverMaigrir  Ã‚  to lose weight, get thinNourrir  Ã‚  to feed, nourishObà ©ir   to obeyPunir  Ã‚  to punishRà ©flà ©chir  Ã‚  to reflect, thinkRemplir  Ã‚  to fillRà ©ussir  Ã‚  to succeedRougir  Ã‚  to blush, turn redVieillir  Ã‚  Ã‚  to grow old Exceptions: Irregular -ir Verbs Most of the French -ir verbs are regular verbs, which conform to the previously discussed rules for conjugation. Its important to keep in mind that there are a number of  irregular -ir verbs  in French. These verbs can be tricky, but there is some good news: Only about 50 irregular -ir verbs exist in French, and they have only 16 conjugations. To simplify things further, most of those fall into just three groups. The first group of irregular  -ir  verbs is essentially conjugated like the verb  partir  (to leave).  This  group includes such verbs as: Consentir   to consentDà ©partir  Ã‚  to accordDormir   to sleep  Endormir  Ã‚  to put/send to sleep The second group consists of verbs that end in  -llir,  -frir,  or, -vrir, and  almost all are conjugated like  regular -er verbs. Examples of these verbs include: Couvrir  Ã‚  to cover  Cueillir  Ã‚  to pick  Ã‚  Dà ©couvrir   to discoverEntrouvrir  Ã‚  to half-open In the third group, verbs such as  tenir  (to hold) and  venir  (to come) and their derivatives follow a shared conjugation pattern in the present tense. Note, however, a major difference in the compound tenses:  Venir  and most of its derivatives use  Ãƒ ªtre  as their  auxiliary verb, while  tenir  and its derivatives use  avoir. Wild Cards The remaining irregular  -ir  verbs dont follow a pattern.  You just have to memorize the conjugations for each of the following verbs separately. Luckily, they are among the most frequently used French verbs, so memorizing their conjugations is completely worth the trouble. They include: Acquà ©rir   to  acquire  Ã‚  Asseoir   to sitAvoir  Ã‚  to haveConquà ©rir   to  conquerCourir  Ã‚  to run

The Right And Life Of Abortion - 1246 Words

The Right to Life â€Å"As long as there is life, there is hope† reads The Cage by Ruth Minsky Sender. Abortion is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as â€Å"the deliberate termination of a pregnancy and is most often preformed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.† Beginning early on in history, abortions were viable solutions for immigrants, as their pregnancy rates were higher than the natives of an area or region. As timed passed, laws on abortion began to create a war on the separation of Church and State. These issues have yet to suppress. The Catholic Church defines abortions as â€Å"the direct and purposeful taking of the life of the unborn child† according to the Catholic News Agency. Living beings come into existence all at once and gradually unfold their world of innate potential. (10 Reasons). In relation to faith and religion, Catholicism teaches that humans are endowed with the image and likeness of God from the moment of conception. Abortion disregards the imprinted value of a human-life by undermining its development. Karen Pazol states, â€Å"Among the 49 areas that provided data for 2006, a total of 846,181 abortions were reported (Pazol). Almost one million innocent lives are taken annually because abortion is shrugged of as a solution to unwanted pregnancies. These actions result in distress for not only the pregnant woman, but also her family. Though she may not tell anyone, eventually the truth reveals itself through circumstance, guilt, or mistake (Reasons Abortions). Many people overlook the psychological effects of abortion and how devastating these ch oices can be. Christianet claims that abortion can truly tear a family apart when they say, The abortion mentality destroys the family by making it more difficult for new Americans who survive beyond the womb to find the family welded together by the indissoluble bond of

Mihyo 2008 p-10) The issue of academic staff attrition and retention in developing countries has been less well documented in the literature. This is because the issue tends to be subsumed under the general category of ‘brain drain’, without particular attention being devoted to it. This subsumption reflects the close relationship between the brain dr ain and staff retention in many countries. (wisdom 2006 p-12). The employees who are not satisfied with the organizational retention policy they tend to leave the organization. Many research shows that the employees with the higher age are less tends to leave but the lower rank employees are more tends to leave the organization. There is always a certain amount of employee turnover due retirements, promotions and career development; however specific industries and occupations experience attrition rates far greater than others. One business expert author identified ten primary reasons of the employee resigns (MacCann). * Basic financial needs not met. * Lack of competitive salary * Poor benefits * Poor communication * Negative work environment Lack of recognition * Unfair treatment * Lack of challenge in job * Lack of job security * Life conflicts (Gary S. Trulson p-12) There is a vast literature on the causes of voluntary employee turnover dating back to the 1950s. By developing multivariate models that combine a number of factors contributing to turnover and empirically testing the models researchers have sought to predict why individuals leave organizatio ns. Many studies are based on only a small number of variables which often only explain a small amount of variability in turnover. Another criticism of turnover studies is that they do not adequately capture the complex psychological processes involved in individual turnover decisions. Literature Review â€Å"An effective Employee Retention Program is a systematic effort to create and foster an environment that encourages employees to remain employed by having policies and practices in place that address their diverse needs. † (George C. Sinnott, Commissioner George H. Madison, Director September 2002 p-2) Employee retention is perhaps the most frequently studied phenomenon in the organizational effectiveness. Most organizations find it difficult to measure and improve employee attitudes related to work. Most of the organizations are working on their retention plans for improving employee`s performance and employee`s satisfaction which leads to organizational effectiveness. Increasing employee satisfaction and thereby reducing employee turnover is critical. Long-tenured employees develop personal associations with customers. These relationships are the Groundwork for a reinforcing cycle of positive links between employees and customers. Employees who recognize relationships with customers provide better service. Customers who receive better service express fewer complaints and thereby create fewer problems for employees. Employees in turn react more constructively to tackle with customers. These reactions result in better service which again leads to privileged organizational revenues. Ultimately it is of importance in the educational institutions where teachers have develop direct relation with the students, if turnover of the teachers increases it will also decrease the satisfaction level of the students as well. So the organizations with the long term teachers have ultimately gain the good success in the market. Teaching staff: In the academia the teaching staff is main factor for improving the organizations effectiveness. The institutions with the satisfied and retained staff work more effectively than other. If teaching staff works for the longer period of time then it will be able to produce the desired results for the students, if students are satisfied who are the customers and it will increase the reputation of organization in the market. â€Å"Teaching bright students and seeing their students develop are the positive aspects of teaching. The negative aspects relate to assessment, both of the amounts required of the students and that of the staff themselves. Administrative tasks and organizational change tend to be viewed as negative aspects of the job by most academics. Hours of work spent on administration have a negative effect on satisfaction with almost all dimensions of academics’ job satisfaction. † (Hilary Metcalf et al. Research Report RR658 p-xvi). Retention: Employee retention refers to the various policies and practices which let the employees stick to an organization for a longer period of time. The organization is completely at loss when the employees leave their job once they are fully trained. Employee retention takes into account the various measures taken so that an individual stays in an organization for the maximum period of time. The completely trained employees should be given more time to stay by contracting them for longer period. As the research shows, â€Å"About two-thirds of academics expected to remain in UK academia until retirement. This was higher in new universities. We would estimate that between three and six per cent would leave the sector in the year following interview. This comprised two to three per cent of those on permanent contracts and five to 11 per cent of those on fixed-term contracts. Forty-three per cent of those who thought they might leave the sector in the following year expected to move to another job; this was most commonly to a UK job outside research and teaching, to an academic job abroad or for fixed-term contracts staff, to a UK research job. Contract staff could be seen as being driven out of the sector due to insecurity: they tended to leave due to their contract ending, the desire for a permanent job or pessimism about job opportunities in UK academia. (Hilary Metcalf et al. Research Report RR658 p- vii). Employee benefits: In the educational institutions employees are looking forward for monetary as well as non-monetary rewards. The organizations which develop the reward system for the employees are better able to reduce the employee turnover. These monetary and non-monetary rewards may include followings: according to (pasc hal B. Mihyo 2008 p-xiii) * Free or subsidized education facility provided to staff children. * Private pension fund and health insurance schemes should be developed. Reward and recognition system should be decentralized. * Loan guarantee schemes that can enable staff acquire respectable shelter and means of transport need to be developed. â€Å"Institutions should work towards a reasonable improvement in the working conditions (salary and non-salary) of staff, because this is likely to result in more than proportionate levels of job satisfaction. It is necessary to implement some system of differential rewards. This is inevitable, if certain academic fields are to attract and retain staff. Universities should maintain, or institute, non-salary benefits such as tuition waivers/remissions, preferential admission for staff and their families, and access to childcare and primary school facilities provided by their institutions. †(Wisdom J. Tettey 2006 p-4) Motivation of the staff: Employees who stay with a firm because of motivational reasons derive their satisfaction primarily from the work itself. An average of 75 percent of the respondents identified internal/motivational factors such as achievement, recognition, challenging work, and advancement prospects as the main reasons for staying. Matthew H. Sauber , Andrew G. Snyir Mohsen Sharifi p-36). Motivation can increase the employee satisfaction and also its efficiency at work place. There is an old saying you can take a horse to the water but you cannot force it to drink; it will drink only if it’s thirsty – so with people. They will do what they want to do or otherwise motivated to do. The motivati on can also have an impact on the job performance of employees. The job performance depends upon the ability and ability in turn depends on experience, education and ; training. On the other hand motivation can be improved quickly. There are many options and an uninitiated manager may not even know where to start. As a guideline, there are broadly seven strategies for motivation. The Present Study The aim of this study to investigate some factors that have an influence on employee retention. Based on the previous research and literature, both employee retention and organizational factors are taken into account. On the organization side it has to focus on the leadership style, motivation and reward system. On the employee side the age, experience and level of job had not given a clear conclusion. So there is no source of expectation from these variables. But other variables are leadership style, motivation and recognition are considered. It has been shown that the employees with higher age are less satisfied with the leadership role of their boss in the educational institutions. It has also shown that the employees with more experience got more recognition in the organization. But due to ineffective reward system they are less satisfied. Following research questions are established. RQ1. To what extent can retention be predicted by the variable â€Å"organization effectiveness†? RQ2 What is the relationship between selected employee variables (age, experience and level of job) with retention? RQ3 Is there a difference between different groups of employees (groups differing n seniority, level of education and whether or not being seen as High Potential) regarding their retention? MODEL RETENTION OF EMPLOYEE LEADERSHIP STYLE MOTIVATION AT WORK PLACE RECOGNITION ORGANIZATION EFFECTIVENESS Methodology Data collection Data were collected by means of a questionnaire that was distributed on a voluntary basis in educational institutions and among employees, in hard-copy, in the year 2011. The study sample consists of 214 employees which will be in the categories of high level, middle level and low level employees. The high level employees consist of directors, principal and vice-principal of the institutions. The middle level employees include teachers and instructors. The low level employees will be as clerks, cashier, and front desk representatives. The data collected from the secondary schools and higher secondary schools. The participant’s 87. 4% is male and 12. 6 % is female. The majority of the employees (81%) worked full time and other worked part time (19%). gender | Frequency| Percent| Valid Percent| Cumulative Percent| Valid| male| 187| 87. 4| 87. 4| 87. 4| | female| 27| 12. | 12. 6| 100. 0| | Total| 214| 100. 0| 100. 0| | Instruments The questionnaire used for the study to collect data is designed with the help of expert researcher. The questionnaire consists of 13 items which would be categorized into three different variables used for analysis. Results and Analysis The first issue for data analysis was the presence of missing figures in the form of NR answers. The most freq uent case of missing data was the use of N/A for items related to ‘‘leaders in this organization are role models†7 respondents choose N/R for one or the other. The responses are categorized as it is â€Å"strongly agree† =1 , â€Å"Agree†=†2† , â€Å"Neutral†=3, â€Å"Disagree†=4, â€Å"Strongly Disagree†=5. The value of Cronbach’s alpha is . 724 (72. 4%) which shows reliability of data. The correlation which shows that participation will have negative weak relation with the experience of employees with r=0. 01;0. 05 (5%) and value of correlation is (-. 255). The results also shows that as the age of employee increases the less satisfied with the leadership style and the value of correlation is -. 285 with significance level 0. 01;0. 05(5%). The reward system of the organization has also n impact on employees and result shows that as the age of employee’s increases they are more satisfied with the reward system. Is reward system of the organization is adequate? age| Strongly agree=1| Agree=2| Neutral=3| Disagree=4| Strongly Disagree=5| 20-2526-3031-3536-40| 863017| 442111076| 0000 0| 55204887| 2070027| Does your employer make effort for employee’s awareness about their work? The organizations with who gives the employees clear vision about their job description, the employees in that organizations work with greater efficiency. The educational institutions are more concerned about retaining their employee’s b providing them with clear idea about their vision. Conclusion and Findings The study shows that retention of employee in the educational sector has an impact on the organizational effectiveness. The retention depends on the reward system of the organization, motivation and recognition of employee at work place. Another useful focus for further work is a comparison of conditions of services between academic staff and their counterparts, with similar qualifications and experience, who are employed outside of universities. This will help determine, with substantive evidence, whether the views expressed by respondents in this study are indeed supported by the facts. It has been shown that higher potential employees are less satisfied with the leadership style and they get less recognition in organization. The educational institutions are the source of developing human resource for the economic development of a country. So importance has been given to that sector for improving and retaining employees in that sector. The age has also has an impact on the retention the employees with higher age are not willing to leave organization because they are now being able to get retirement benefits. The employees with lower age try to get the more and more and they are always trying to get good jobs, and are less dependent. The retention of employee has an impact on the organizational effectiveness. If the employees retained in the organization than the organization effectiveness increases by increase in revenues, increase in competency. It can also get a competitive edge in the market. So the organizations with better motivated employee are able to work better in this competitive world. Colonialism and Atlantic World free essay sample

The social and Economic transformations that occurred in the Atlantic world as a result of new contacts among Western Europe, Africa, and the Americas from 1492 to 1 750 increased and decreased populations of the Atlantic world due to the slave trade and flourishing economy. Also in the Americas, European colonists stopped mining for silver, and moved on to agriculture. Due to the new contacts within the Atlantic world, economies flourished as new crops and food spread around. The sole reason for the spread of such goods was due to the triangular trade system and the slave trade systems, in which Europeans carried voyages over the three continents of Europe, Africa, and the Americas. As the Atlantic world came into contact with Europe, Africa, and the Americas, it was affected socially in many ways such as class separation in the Americas. The light beckoning at the end of the tunnel is often a mirage or a firefly briefly lighting the path of those relatively few souls who make legal matters the object of their contemplations and, especially, their outspoken criticism. Sometimes, there is indeed light that will only in very few instances mean the emergence, albeit temporarily, from the tunnel. More often than not, the light signifies no more than a turning or a twist or a light vent in a tunnel, which for the vast majority of societies in the West will seemingly never end in the sunlight of a vital, dynamic, and responsible system of free speech in the legal domain, a system that responds to the needs of a democratic society and also responds to the protection of certain other vital interests of the individual in a humane society. In most respects, one society has to a significant extent em erged in the sunlight of a system of legal free speech that is responsive to the needs of a free society, especially because of the theory of the law as handed down by its highest court. The same holds true concerning unfettered access to information about legal matters...
